I believe these are the self same people who refuse to believe that Professor Stephen Haking is British because his voice synthesiser has an American Accent.

Whilst I confess to knowing little of the complexities of American Health insurance, I think I could safely state that he would be unlikely to obtain any given his 'prior health condition', but what would be the point?
Even with insurance his medical bills would be exorbitant such that there may come a time when no hospital would actually treat him.
If he had no insurance, he'd be long dead by now.
I will hear nothing rotten said about the NHS; it formed my livelihood for many a year, good bad, and indifferent, all a part of the human condition. Despite its many faults ( mainly related to a top heavy management tier who insist on micromanaging EVERYTHING), I can think of no more wonderful, or humane concept than healthcare free at the point of access to those who most need it.
Stephen Hawking, I believe, counts himself seriously bloody lucky that he ISN'T American.
